3. After all of the organisms in your population die off, it will tell you that your game is over. Record the number in the top right-hand box that says how many years your population survived.
4. After reporting your survival years, write 2-4 sentences summarizing the game/ explaining how it modeled evolution via natural selection.

This game lets you pick 3 animals with different noticeable traits and tests them in different situations. It makes the animals reproduce and then kills them off if they cannot make it past each environmental situation until 1 million years pass. The game models natural selection because it shows that the organisms with the most useful adaptations for the situations will keep going while the ones that don't have helpful ones would not make it. The ones with the better traits would pass it on and evolution would then happen.

I survived for 1,000,000 years. The objective of this game is to, obviously, survive for one million years. At the beginning, the game lets you choose 3 different animals with different traits. The game then proceeds to test them with different situations. The game also allows you two have 2 life preservers that you can use any time except for a select few moments. Along the course of the game, the species that you chose will either live and reproduce and adapt in the process or die off. It modeled evolution because it let the species that was best suited to the environment survive and the others died. For example, I had 2 different brown animals and 1 green one. At the beginning of the game, it was the brown species that outnumbered my green species. However, later in the game, I noticed that my green species were becoming abundant while the brown species were slowly disappearing until they disappeared altogether and became extinct. It's like that with nature.
This game had you chose three animals with different traits in hopes that your species could live for up to 1,000,000 years. Natural selection took place when certain event occurred. For example, when food grows on high stalks, your animals must be equipped with long necks to survive. If they do not have long necks, then they will die off due to the process of natural selection.

This game does a great job of showing the process of natural selection. First, you choose three species (all with different traits), and they breed and create offspring with different traits. Every once in a while, a natural disaster occurs, and you see if your species can survive the results. You have 2 life life preservers that allow you to introduce a new species into the environment, hopefully helping your species survive with the new adaptations. I made it to 1,000,000 years of survival(which is the goal) without using any life preservers.
This game explained how natural selection could change a population by putting the species through multiple major events. During each event, if a organism type couldn't survive, they would die off, evidently changing the variation in the population. If they could adapt to each event, they survived to live another day.

Natural selection chooses for the best traits and most adapted organisms to produce offspring.

Different obstacles tried to wipe out your population but the most diverse population stays alive since it can't all be wiped out by one event. The organisms with the best traits survived and kept reproducing. I felt like this game did a great job of showing natural selection.
